FAQ
Physiotherapist Jaana Mäkelä responds
Is walking and bonxing (walking with wrist weights) suitable for everyone? Are there reasons why one should not or cannot walk or bonx?
Walking is a suitable and health-promoting form of exercise for most people. Additionally, bonxing can add variety to walking. However, if you have an injury or pain in your upper limbs, using wrist weights may cause extra strain on those areas. In such cases, it is advisable to consult a doctor or physiotherapist before starting bonxing. Similarly, if you have a chronic illness, such as a heart or vascular disease, I recommend discussing with a doctor or physiotherapist before beginning bonxing.
How does bonxing differ from regular walking?
Bonxaus differs from regular walking in that the use of wrist weights increases the activation and load on the upper body muscles. This makes walking a comprehensive workout, where it is easier to engage the upper limbs and core.
How do bonx make walking easier and/or better?
Bonxit make walking more efficient and versatile. Weights on the wrists help to perceive the position and movement of the upper limbs and upper body. When you actively involve your hands in walking, the whole body participates more in the movement.
Bonxaus can also promote improved posture, as the weights help the body find a good and natural upright position, which is the foundation of good walking.
General questions
Can bonsai be washed?
Yes, hand washing is fine. The best way to keep the bonnets fresh is to store them hanging loosely by the washing label, for example on a coat rack in the hallway.
How are bonx recycled?
Textiles to textile collection and weights to household metal collection.
Where and in what are the bonx made?
Bonksit are made in Finland. The fabrics come through the company Sideflow, and we aim to use so-called Rescue textiles. The country of manufacture for the fabrics currently in use is Italy, and they come from the stock of a Finnish company that manufactured sportswear and has ceased operations.
We source the weights through a Finnish partner and they are manufactured in Italy.
Can I use bonxes with a smartwatch?
Usage is possible, but it depends on the model of the watch. Often the easiest way is to wear the watch next to the bonx higher up on the arm.

Bonks are delivered as a small package by Post directly to your mailbox. When you order, you will receive a tracking code from Post.
There is also a pickup point available in Lauttasaari, Helsinki.
